FT Ministry launches WhatsApp Pertiwi helpline for residents

PUTRAJAYA: The Federal Territories Ministry has launched a WhatsApp helpline for the public to channel complaints and inquiries about the ministry. Its Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa said that he hopes the platform, called WhatsApp Pertiwi, can facilitate better communication between the people and the ministry. "Through these WhatsApp messages, we would like to understand better the hardship faced by the people in the Federal Territories and improve on our services to the people. "With this, the public can channel their grouses or inquiries directly to us," he said during a live Facebook press conference on Sunday (April 19). Annuar also urged people to use this platform wisely and only ask about issues of public interest that are directly related to the ministry or agencies under the ministry. The public can message WhatsApp Pertiwi at 013-6806666 and 013-6887777. Annuar also added that the ministry will start a "Lighting Blue" campaign as a sign of gratitude to the frontliners battling against Covid-19 in conjunction with Labour Day that falls on May 1. "It is a symbolic gesture to our Ministry of Health (MoH) director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah and other frontliners like doctors, nurses, policemen, the army as well as other frontliners. "We will light our building blue because it is a formal colour for the medical profession, starting April 30,10.30pm until May 3. "We also urge other building managements to join in the campaign," he said.
