No Ramadan bazaar this year, not even via drive-thru or e-hailing

PETALING JAYA: There will not be any Ramadan Bazaar in the Federal Territories in any form this year, and that includes via drive-throughs, pack-and-pick and e-hailing. Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa said said the decision was made after taking into account various factors and situations with the National Security Council (NSC). "The three methods were elaborately discussed, and NSC thinks that it is best not to have Ramadan bazaar. "This includes all mobile hawker stalls to minimise the number of vehicles on the road. "So Ramadan bazaar will be cancelled this year," he said during a Facebook live press conference on Thursday (April 16). Meanwhile, Yayasan WIlayah Persekutuan (YWP) will be launching i-Hya Ramadan on April 22, a programme for corporate companies, NGOs or any individuals who wish to give food contributions to the needy during the Ramadan month. "The public can contribute food to the needy community for breaking fast or during sahur. "There are three ways to contribute. The public can pay for a person's meal priced at RM10, and the foundation will take care of the rest; choose the food package and their beneficiaries; or choose their beneficiaries from a list of candidates. "We start receiving bookings starting April 22 through the foundation's website, and they can pay through credit card, online transfer or e-wallet. "For examples, 11 precincts in Putrajaya are in the green zone where there are no Covid-19 cases. "Green zones included precincts 1,2, 3,4, 6,12,13,16,17,19 and 20 while yellow zone areas are Precincts 5,7, 8,9, 10,11,14,15,18 and Precinct Diplomat. "But if we add it together, it becomes a red zone, but in fact, the situation is not so bad," he said.
